Incomplete Geometry

In the process of investigating the genome piece there was a podcast of it which included a prior segment.

[Very Rough Thinking In Progress]

In a bit of preemptive* positing, I note the potential significance of 8 and 24 dimension.

Could it be that it is related to the fact that 2 cubed is eight and 8x3 is 24.

I say that without quibbling** over the definition of dimensions, but to say they are using it too purely mathematical.

But now that I have spelled it out, might it represent 3 dimensions in each of the 8 quadrants of standard x-y-z grid.  Or am I just putting into words what it actually means in their math?

* having listened to the podcast but not done the math
** @ t we already have a different definition or do we?  (x,y,z, & t)
then there are the dimentions[!] of Arthur Young, and by golly was that 8 or v/7?***
[!]= irony or (sic) that I found him with that spelling
